# ST-9 — Each transition carried a payload defined for it

## The rule

> **Normative.** This is the rule.
>
> 1. Retired with the polled status surface.
>
> 2. A transition to running carried the node type and start time, to completed the execution time and output size, to failed the error, and to interrupted the interrupt id and type.
>
> 3. These payloads outlived the surface, still riding the runtime status broadcasts.
