# SG-13 — A run records the configuration it resolved and resumes on it

## The rule

> **Normative.** This is the rule.
>
> 1. A run records the execution configuration it resolved, including the thread it runs on and the checkpoint store it uses.
>
> 2. A later resume or deferred launch of that run rebuilds its configuration from that record, so an edit to the workflow cannot change the configuration of a run already in flight.
>
> 3. Only where no such record exists does configuration fall back to the workflow's own settings, and then to defaults, bounded by the maximum number of iterations the caller allowed.
