# ORC-12 — Asynchronous execution returns immediately

## The rule

> **Normative.** This is the rule.
>
> 1. Asynchronous execution returns the status `queued` to its caller immediately and executes no node in the calling request.
>
> 2. It may seed the run from a snapshot of already-completed work.
