# R5.a — A workflow is bounded to 500 nodes

## The rule

> **Normative.** This is the rule.
>
> 1. A workflow must not contain more than 500 nodes.
>
> 2. A workflow that does is refused with the error code `R5_TOO_MANY_NODES`, and the save does not take effect.
